The Team
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team is an established and collaborative group that provides financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and strategic advice to support the Ministry of Finance, Office of the Premier, and other partnered offices and entities. Made up of a director, budget managers, and financial analysts, the team works closely with ministry executives, program areas, corporate services, and central agencies to support informed decision-making and responsible financial management.

The Role
As a Budget Manager, you will lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for assigned ministry portfolios, providing trusted financial advice to program areas, senior leaders, and decision-makers. You will assess financial risks and pressures, support annual and multi-year budget development, and deliver clear, evidence-based analysis that helps guide strategic decisions and responsible stewardship of public resources.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in a related discipline (i.e., business, finance, economics, management); AND
- A minimum of 3 years of related applied experience*; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Related applied experience must include:
- Experience in financial management including budget development and forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Experience in analysis of complex financial information and business issues.
- Experience in developing collaborative relationships with key partners, clients, and staff.
- Experience in the supervision of staff, performance management and workload planning.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Accounting designation (CPA).
- Experience in oversight of budget development and forecasting.
- Experience with budgeting within a government environment.
- Experience in financial systems for forecasting and budgeting.
- Experience in review and development of effective business processes.
- Experience in leading and overseeing projects, i.e. business reviews, systems development etc.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until June 30, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
