The Team
The Capital Asset Team is a small, collaborative team within the Financial Services Branch, Corporate Services Division that supports the financial accountability of the Province’s real estate portfolio. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work alongside experienced finance professionals to provide strategic analysis, financial reporting, and advice that informs key capital investment decisions. The Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead capital planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis that supports major government investment decisions and the stewardship of more than $5 billion in public assets. You will provide expert advice, develop financial models, and mentor team members while helping ensure public funds are managed responsibly, transparently, and in compliance with government standards.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is required with combination of related experience. Must be a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants BC (CPABC) with good standing. 
  • Related experience must include all of the following:
    • Developing and preparing financial reports for senior ministry staff.
    • Budget development, forecasting, financial analysis and budget monitoring.
    • Interpreting policies or legislation and providing advice to support budget development, forecasting, accounting treatments and various other financial matters. 
    • Analyzing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial action.


Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Experience working with capital budgets and transactions.
  • Supervisory experience.
