The Team:
The Interior East Kootenay Leadership Team is an established and collaborative leadership group comprised of the Executive Director of Service, Associate Executive Director of Service, and eight Directors of Operations who provide guidance and support across a broad range of child and family service programs. Working closely with Team Leaders, frontline staff, Indigenous communities, contractors, and community partners, the team is committed to strengthening practice, fostering positive workplace culture, and building meaningful community relationships. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful service delivery that supports children, youth, and families while benefiting from both formal and informal mentorship within a supportive and experienced leadership team.
The Role:
As a key leader, you will oversee the delivery and quality of services and programs for children, youth, and families, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and professional standards while driving continuous service improvement. The role includes leading and supervising a multidisciplinary team, managing integrated case management practices, overseeing budgets and resources, and negotiating and evaluating service contracts to achieve effective outcomes. By promoting consistent best practices and cultivating strong partnerships with community stakeholders, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth, and families. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care, or Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
Related Experience may include:
- Experience in a supervisory/management position.
- Experience in program and service delivery planning and evaluation.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Three (3) years or more of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
- Currently hold or be immediately eligible for C6 delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFSCA).
Willingness Statement / Proviso:
- Must possess and maintain a valid BC class 5 Driver’s licence. NOTE: if you currently have a valid BC (full) class 5 driver's licence in Canada and if you are the successful applicant you must acquire a valid class 5 BC driver's licence immediately.
- May be required to work evenings/weekends.
- Exposure to regular travel in remote locations.
- May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
- Must be willing to travel periodically for provincial meetings.
- Willingness to work with families facing challenges which may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant dealings with angry, abusive, or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around volatile parents and/or children in crisis.

About this Position:
This position is full time temporary opportunity until January 31, 2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based in the following Ministry of Children and Family Development offices: Revelstoke and Salmon Arm
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
