The Team
The Executive Director, Child Care Finance will join the Child Care Finance Branch, an established and collaborative team of approximately 45 directors, managers, and financial professionals dedicated to supporting the Ministry’s ChildCareBC initiatives and the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. Working alongside senior leaders, program and policy experts, and corporate finance partners, this team provides strategic financial leadership, planning, and advice that helps make child care more affordable and accessible for families across British Columbia. The Role
The Executive Director, Child Care Finance provides strategic leadership for the Child Care Finance Branch, overseeing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational management to support the successful delivery of ChildCareBC initiatives and funding programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to help guide significant public investments, ensuring resources are managed responsibly and directed toward improving access to affordable, high-quality child care for families and communities across British Columbia. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in a related field (business administration, public administration) and five (5) or more years of senior-level leadership experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA/ACCA), in good standing
- Senior-level leadership experience includes:
- Experience in strategic planning including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation activities.
- Experience goal setting and developing performance measurement tools.
- Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with senior leaders across government.
- Experience preparing briefing documents, high-level reports, and decision papers for review by senior government executives.
- Experience working within public sector governance and decision-making processes.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
