The Team
The Administrative team in our Victoria office includes one Administrative Team Leader and three Administrative Assistants who provide essential support to both internal staff and clients. Working within the Services to Adults Division, the team plays an important role in delivering services that help vulnerable adults navigate complex personal, financial, and legal decisions. The work can be challenging, but it is highly rewarding, and we are dedicated to creating an equitable and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to contribute. The Role
The Administrative Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support services to the branch including receiving, reviewing and validating incoming submissions, composing correspondence and other written materials, researching and summarizing client file information, opening and distributing mail and providing general advice and service to clients, family members, stakeholders and the general public.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
- Experience providing customer or client service, carrying out legal, administrative and/or financial duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner in an office setting.
- Preference may be given to candidates with 1 or more years of experience.
- Experience/training working with Microsoft office products.
- Experience with data entry.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience working directly or in person with vulnerable populations (e.g. vulnerable adults, persons with disabilities, children, heirs and beneficiaries and individuals with language, behavioural and/or cognitive barriers)
- Completed Office Administration courses
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit.
Proviso:
- Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, and an enhanced security clearance check as required by the PGT.

About this Position:
There is one (1) position available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
