The Team
The Investigation Team is a collaborative and growing team made up of three Major Case Management units, where Financial Investigators, Financial and Open-Source Analysts, and Case File Specialists work closely together on complex files. We believe that bringing together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives helps us approach challenges thoughtfully and make stronger decisions. Working alongside legal counsel, leadership, and law enforcement partners, the team helps address unlawful activity and supports safer communities across British Columbia.
The Role
As a Case File Specialist, you will manage complex civil forfeiture case files from intake through litigation, providing specialized support to counsel, investigators, analysts, police and partner agencies. You will use sound judgment to review and prepare sensitive information, coordinate records and disclosure, and ensure files meet legal, privacy and procedural requirements, while providing consistent and respectful service to diverse partners and stakeholders. The role also exercises delegated authority to issue notices and assess personal information access requirements, helping support fair, transparent and accountable processes.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- A diploma or higher in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field, and 2 years of *related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
*Related experience must include each of the following:
- Experience in a high-volume legal case-file environment, including litigation, forfeiture, prosecution, or other similar legal environments.
- Experience analyzing, organizing, and quality-controlling disclosure packages or court-related materials.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, court orders, legal procedures, and disclosure and privacy requirements.
- Experience using electronic case management, document management, disclosure, records management, or litigation-support systems.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- A paralegal certificate, diploma, or degree.
- Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring staff or colleagues.
- Experience working in a civil litigation or forfeiture environment.
- Experience handling confidential and/or privileged investigative information.
- Experience using Salesforce or other enterprise case/file management systems.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
