The Team
Formed in 2010, Corporate Services for the Natural Resource Ministries (CSNR) serves the seven natural resource ministries (NRM): Agriculture and Food (AF); Energy and Climate Solutions (ECS); Environment and Parks (ENV); Forests (FOR); Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation (IRR); Mining and Critical Minerals (MCM); and Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (WLRS). CSNR is a unique corporate services organization providing services to the seven natural resource ministries which includes approximately 8,000 employees in over 100 locations throughout the province. These services include financial operations and planning, budget management, compliance and procurement, facilities, fleet and assets, and corporate security. CSNR's vision is to be trusted partners and service providers sharing in the success of the Natural Resource Ministries. Our mission is to deliver corporate services in finance, facilities, fleet & security to support the Natural Resource Ministries in achieving their goals.
Committed to service excellence, the Financial Services Branch (FSB) partners with clients, CSNR colleagues, and partner agencies to provide financial operations, accounting, revenue, budget management, and financial policy and compliance services. We work with program areas and senior leadership to support effective financial management, address risks, and advance ministry priorities. Through a customer-focused approach and continuous improvement, we provide accurate, timely, and strategic financial information to support ministry objectives.
The Role
As a Financial Analyst, you will work with ministry clients to manage budgets, prepare forecasts, and provide financial advice. You will help identify financial issues, recommend solutions, and support informed decision-making. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline and at least one year *related experience; OR,
• Diploma in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, and two years of *related experience; OR,
• Completion of level one (1) of the Financial Management Certificate Program, and two years of *related experience OR,
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related* Experience includes the following:
• Experience creating financial forecasts and analysis.
• Experience composing financial statements, reports and reconciliations.
• Experience analyzing financial/accounting statements, and recommending remedial actions supported by your analysis.
• Experience developing, implementing and interpreting financial policies and procedures.
• Experience in supporting budget evaluation processes for multiple business areas.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level (includes working with large sets of data, formulas, multiple worksheets, finding and replacing data, sub-totaling, sorting, filtering, setting up data validation, creating pivot tables and charts, data imports and working with text data).
Preference may be given to candidates with:
• Two or more years of experience in any of the above related experience requirements.
• Experience using CFS (Corporate Financial System).
• Experience using the Natural Resource Sectors internal FFS (Financial Forecasting System).

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 10/31/2027. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position can be based in any Natural Resource Sector office.
