Description

The Team
The Resource Stewardship Division Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office provides leadership and coordination for a diverse provincial team dedicated to conserving and managing British Columbia’s fish, wildlife, habitats, and ecosystems. Supporting more than 300 staff across the province, the team works collaboratively with First Nations, government partners, stakeholders, and communities to advance stewardship initiatives that deliver lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits for British Columbians.


The Role
The Executive Coordinator is a key member of the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Office, providing strategic coordination and executive support across a broad range of priorities, including service planning, issues management, communications, financial oversight, and special projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and proactive professional to work at the executive level, contribute to significant stewardship initiatives, and help support decisions that influence the management and conservation of British Columbia’s natural resources for current and future generations.
 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Completion of relevant post-secondary training or equivalent (i.e. HR, Business, Operations, Project Management, Communications, etc). 
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.


Preference may be given to:

  • 2 years + experiences in a senior administrative role.
  • 2 years + experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 01/01/2027. This position may be shortened, extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
This position is excluded from union membership.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
