Description

The Team
The Prevention and Loss Management Services Branch is an established, multidisciplinary team of approximately 200 staff working to promote the integrity, service quality, and public confidence of the BC Employment and Assistance Program. Working alongside service delivery operations and partners such as law enforcement, the Canada Revenue Agency, and the courts, the team delivers prevention, loss management, and enforcement initiatives while supporting fair and consistent program administration. The branch is supported by committed and hardworking staff who contribute to this important work with a focus on respectful and equitable service.

The Role
The Executive Director, Prevention and Loss Management Services (PLMS) is a leadership role that oversees prevention, loss management, service quality, and enforcement programs that support the integrity of the BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Program. With a client-centred approach, the role balances protecting public resources with ensuring clients receive the benefits and supports they are entitled to, while leading a large, geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary team. In this position you will have the opportunity to contribute to a cohesive divisional executive team and a collaborative, high-functioning Branch.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in business administration, public administration or a related field, and 5 years of *related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
     

*Related experience must include the following:

  • Experience in program, policy and service delivery planning, implementation, management and evaluation.
  • Leading the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, strategies, programs and priorities with clear and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative strategic relationships/partnerships that help the organization achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Leading and influencing change management in a complex setting which demands a high degree of tact, sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Developing and presenting proposals and plans for decision to an executive audience.
  • Preparing and presenting complex issues to Ministers, senior government officials and external partners.
  • Leading and coaching teams in a performance-focused organization.
  • Building and promoting collaborative team environments.
     

Preference may be given to applicants with experience:

  • Leading prevention, service quality, loss management, and/or law enforcement programs and initiatives.
  • Preventing and mitigating loss, deterring fraud and abuse, and optimizing cost savings and recovery.
  • Leading teams and promoting employee engagement in a multi-disciplinary, virtual, geographically dispersed environment.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based in any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office, pending space availability. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
