The Team
The Intersection Safety Camera Program is an established team of 22 Intersection Safety Camera Officers, supported by supervisors and program staff, who work together to process red-light and speed violations and support court proceedings across B.C. The team works closely with partners including ICBC, RCMP coordinators and technical teams, and is committed to improving safety for all road users through respectful, consistent and accessible service to people from diverse backgrounds.
The Role
As an Intersection Safety Camera Officer, you will review evidence, process red-light and speed violation tickets, respond to public inquiries, conduct site visits and attend court to prosecute disputed tickets, with travel throughout B.C. The work provides an opportunity to promote safe driving practices and contribute to reducing collisions, injuries and fatalities at intersections. This role offers meaningful experience in compliance and enforcement while supporting fair, respectful and accessible service for people across diverse communities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 graduation.
- Work experience in the areas of security, public safety or program administration.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience using computers to enter and manage data, edit images, and file documents electronically.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience providing customer or client service in a high conflict environment.
- Experience speaking in public or delivering presentations to customers or colleagues.
Willingness Statements:
- Travelling, including long distance driving (6 - 8 hours) up to four times per year is a requirement of this position.
- Must have valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
- Must be able to successfully complete Standardized Traffic Control Training.
