The Team
FrontCounter BC is the public face of natural resource service delivery in British Columbia. As a province-wide team, FrontCounter BC is the primary point of contact for clients seeking permits, licences, authorizations, and information. Our teams work closely with individuals, businesses, Indigenous Nations, local governments, and government partners to deliver accessible, efficient, and client-focused services. Through a single-window service model, FrontCounter BC supports the intake and coordination of applications for natural resource authorizations while helping clients navigate government processes and access services across the province.
The Role
The FrontCounter BC Manager leads the Skeena and Omineca regional teams, overseeing daily operations and providing leadership to both local and virtual staff delivering natural resource services.The position is responsible for operational effectiveness, employee development, and service excellence, ensuring staff have the knowledge, skills, and support needed to respond to diverse client needs. This rewarding opportunity plays a key role in advancing continuous improvement and modernization initiatives, leading change, and building strong partnerships across the Natural Resource Sector to improve service delivery and enhance access to government services for British Columbians
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public sector management, public administration, natural resource management, or a related field, and three (3) years of related experience* in resource sector programs, customer service delivery, and working directly with diverse clients and stakeholders OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training and related experience* may be considered.
*Related experience must include all of the following:
- Staff management experience, including supervision of staff, performance and attendance management, scheduling, coaching and mentoring.
- Experience leading projects and implementing project outcomes to improve business processes and achieve results.
- Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving complex problems with stakeholders.
- Experience in financial management.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Staff management experience in a union setting.
- Staff management experience in an in person and virtual environment.
- Experience delivering natural resource services in a complex permitting environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining working relationships and resolving complex problems with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.
