Description
The Team:
The Corporate and Strategic Services Branch (CSSB) serves as a strategic partner to the BC Compliance and Enforcement Agency (BC-CEA), providing corporate leadership and operational support across the organization. The CSSB brings together expertise in finance, human resources, training, workplace safety, and business operations to support a province-wide workforce delivering environmental and natural resource compliance and enforcement services. By providing the people, processes, and systems that underpin agency operations, the team helps align organizational priorities with frontline operational needs. Working collaboratively across multiple natural resource enforcement and compliance programs, the CSSB strengthens service delivery and supports effective, coordinated outcomes throughout British Columbia.
The Role:
The Director, Corporate Services plays a central role in advancing the BC Compliance & Enforcement Agency's operational and strategic priorities. Responsible for leading corporate services that support a province-wide network of environmental and natural resource enforcement programs, this position provides trusted advice to executive leadership and drives initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness. This is an opportunity to influence outcomes at both the corporate and operational level while supporting services that help protect British Columbia's natural resources and environment.
Qualifications:
Education:
- University degree in a relevant discipline such as public administration, business administration, law, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Equivalent experience includes:
- A superior track record of experience leading and conducting audits, program reviews, evaluations or risk assessments;
- Working extensively within the natural resource sector, with a focus on financial management and human resources.
Experience:
- Experience in program administration, including allocating resources, budget management and business planning.
- Experience in effective issues management.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading significant change initiatives.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading, coaching, mentoring and supervising staff and directing a diverse workgroup of employees including goal setting, performance management and succession planning.
- Experience with financial policy, problem solving, and project management.
- Experience in planning and performance measurement, preferably within the public sector.
- Experience in the management of financial resources and staff.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of software including database systems and Microsoft applications.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) temporary opportunity available for approximately nine (9) months.
This position can be based in a Natural Resource Sector office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
Depending on the successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
