The Team
The New Westminster Law Courts team is a diverse and collaborative group serving the largest integrated court location in the province. With over 50 regular full-time staff, this well-established team supports both courtroom and registry operations. You’ll join a team of two In-Court Supervisors, providing essential support for the daily operation of the courts. The Role
As an In-Court Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless running of court proceedings by supporting the growth and development of over 20 court clerks. You will gain experience in various areas of in-court management, including exhibits and in-court technologies. Working with a diverse court clerk team, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting them through various policy and procedure changes and fostering new opportunities for growth. You will provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and training to Court Clerks while supporting their development and effective performance in the courtroom. You will oversee the planning and coordination of the Court Clerk pool, provide functional supervision to registry staff temporarily assigned to court, and promote a respectful, inclusive and supportive workplace where employees are encouraged to contribute and succeed. This position plays a pivotal role in providing access to justice and ensuring timely responses, contributing to overall service excellence. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience working in a legal environment; or 2 years of experience working in Court Administration.
- 2 years of experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, standard computer applications and software programs (ex: Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience in Court Programs and Applications (JUSTIN, CEIS, CCD).
- Experience as a Court Clerk.
- Experience as a supervisor.
- Experience delivering Court Clerk training.
