The Team
The Mental Health Review Board is an established and collaborative team made up of dedicated professionals and over 70 Board members who are committed to delivering fair, timely, and independent hearing processes for individuals detained under the Mental Health Act. As part of this team, you'll work closely with Board case officers, navigators, Board members, and leadership in an inclusive and respectful environment that values diverse perspectives, accessibility, and equitable access to justice. Together, the team plays a meaningful role in protecting the rights of patients and upholding the principles of fundamental justice, public service integrity, and fairness for all those they serve.

The Role
As the Registrar, you will provide strategic leadership for the Board’s Registry, overseeing day-to-day operations that support more than 3,000 hearing applications and over 1,000 review panel hearings each year. Working closely with a diverse range of internal and external partners, you will help ensure services are accessible, responsive, and centered on the needs of individuals seeking independent reviews under the Mental Health Act. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in business administration, information systems, related field or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years related experience *. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related Experience* must include the following:
    • Experience leading and coaching a multi-disciplinary team in an operational or service delivery environment, AND;
    • Experience in change management of complex systems, AND;
    • Experience with issues management including responding to a broad range of user complaints, AND;
    • Experience developing and implementing policies and business processes.
  • Experience in business and strategic planning.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in policy and/or interpretation of legislation. Preference may be given for policy experience in a business environment.
  • Experience leading and managing projects.
  • Experience in planning and performance measurement. Preference may be given for planning and performance measurement experience in the public sector. 
  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with key partners.
