The Team:
The Corporate Services Division provides the strategic and operational foundation that enables the Ministry of Infrastructure to deliver on its mandate. Through leadership in capital planning and delivery for public post-secondary education facilities, alongside stewardship of key corporate functions, the division helps turn government priorities into lasting infrastructure investments that benefit communities across British Columbia.
The Role:
As Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, you play a pivotal role in advancing the ministry's mandate by providing strategic financial leadership for one of government's most significant infrastructure portfolios. Leading a team of financial and corporate service professionals, you will guide decision-making, strengthen accountability, and ensure sound stewardship of public resources. Working across ministries, central agencies, and executive tables, you will help transform ambitious priorities into achievable, well-managed investments that deliver value for British Columbians.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Successful completion of the education and experience required to be registered as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) in a Canadian jurisdiction and related experience; OR
- Successful completion of the education and experience required to be registered as a CPA in a foreign country that has been assessed as equivalent through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association and related experience.
Related experience must include:
- Considerable experience in progressively more challenging leadership roles directing a wide range of financial activities, including two (2) or more of:
- Infrastructure change
- Business systems and controls
- Policy development and implementation
- Budgeting and/or accounting
- Performance management
- Corporate risk
- Legislative compliance
- Establishing collaborative relationships with executives, senior financial leaders and senior managers associated with managing financial activities and/or leading financial management change.
- Leading and coaching multi-disciplinary financial teams.
Professional Registration and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold a professional accounting designation and be a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants BC (CPABC).
Preference may be given to those with the required combination of education and experience and one (1) or both of the following:
- Related experience gained in a public service or government environment.
- Experience with capital planning and reporting in a government environment.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full-time position available in Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This position is excluded from union membership.
