The Team:
The Natural Resource Officer Service (NROS) is a dedicated team of professionals committed to protecting British Columbia's lands, waters, wildlife, and natural resources. Working across diverse landscapes and alongside Indigenous Nations, government partners, industry, and communities, this team supports compliance with natural resource legislation and helps ensure resources are managed responsibly for the benefit of all British Columbians.

The Role:
The Interior Area Coordinator helps bring structure, coordination, and consistency to NROS regional operations across British Columbia's Interior. Working closely with staff and leadership, this position coordinates a broad range of administrative and operational functions, from financial and human resources administration to project tracking, communications, and records management. This role calls for a confident and self-motivated professional who is comfortable working independently, exercises sound judgement, and can anticipate needs, solve problems, and keep priorities moving forward in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff. 
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with financial transactions/activities (e.g. accounts payable, purchasing, petty cash reconciliation, etc.).
  • Experience with keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and other applications (internet, etc.).
  • Experience with standard computer applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preference may be given to those with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience with records management.
  • Experience with coordination and organization of meetings and events.
  • Experience providing project management support services.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full-time position available.
This position can be located in Kamloops or Williams Lake.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
